Fellow Fragonerds - National Fragrance Day is tomorrow! We will be celebrating by lighting our favorite candles in each room of the studio, and doing a little scent hop throughout the space (which we will either IG Story or Live Stream). If you haven’t found your favorite candle scent yet, we recommend taking note of what candles you do like, checking the ingredients, and looking for other candles with similar ingredients - do this until you find a combination that you love! We know it can be hard to search for the perfect candle (when is Smell-O-Vision coming?!), but if you live in San Francisco, you’re in luck! ZGO is one of our favorite brick and mortar fragrance shops in the city, carrying some great brands like Mad Et Len, BYREDO, and Comme Des Garçons. They have everything from candles, to room sprays, to diffusers, and so much more. So, in honor of National Fragrance Day, stop by and take a peek!
Fun Fact about Fragrance:
The first recorded perfume chemist was a woman named Tapputi, whose existence was noted on a Mesopotamian stone tablet from 1200 BCE. She discovered and created methods for scent extraction that laid the foundation for perfume making, and was an overseer of the Mesopotamian Royal Palace (marking the historical importance of scent-making). So, although National Fragrance Day is a relatively new “day of celebration,” the appreciation of fragrance has been around for centuries!
