Here at the studioHEIMAT office, we’re big fans of the fall. We know it’s technically still summer, but if Starbucks can release its Pumpkin Spice Latte, we can burn a cozy fall-themed candle, right?
This month, we’re burning another Fragonard candle, this one from their Tout Ce Que J’Aime line, called Mon Gingembre (you may recall our previous Fragonard review). The scent is light and subtle, and though it’s not quite hearty enough to fill our whole office with its aroma, when you do happen to catch a whiff of it, it’s reminiscent of a crisp, blustery fall day. Essences of ginger (hence, the name Mon Gingembre, which translates to “My Ginger”), pepper, and cinnamon give the air a warm, inviting atmosphere, and it makes us excited for the upcoming months!
The wax is poured in Fragonard’s signature white porcelain vessel, and comes in a beautiful teal, purple, and gold-foiled box. While the candle’s presentation is quite extraordinary, we experienced quite a bit of tunneling when burning the candle, even with an extended first burn. Aside from that, the burning process was fairly smooth, with no soot, self-snuffing, or divot issues.
We won’t go into detail about the history of Fragonard since you can read it in our previous blog post, but we will say that Fragonard’s rich history is quite interesting, and the company’s years of experience are evident in this candle’s timeless branding. Overall, it’s a beautifully packaged candle with a delicious, albeit light, scent - more appropriate for an intimate space.
